Virean & Rivari

One lineage was born to build, the other to break what must be broken. Both were made to love the world.

Two divine lineages dwell in the Divine Plane, each born from one of the two great energies.

The Virean

The Virean are a divine lineage born from Vire. They believe that mortal worlds should be protected, guided, and allowed to grow in their own time.

The eight guardian gods, the Virae Sentinels who watch over this world, are Virean. So are their agents: lesser Virean, spread through the world, who form the network by which the eight reach mortals.

The Rivari

The Rivari are a divine lineage born from Rive. They were originally created to regulate natural chaos, to keep the necessary force of Rive flowing without letting it run wild.

Over time, many Rivari became corrupted by concentrated Rive, hollowed from within into the Hollow. They harvest Rive from the suffering of mortals, from their fear, war, collapse, religious panic, betrayal, and contradiction.

Not all Rivari are villains; their original purpose was balance. But the fallen are the Hollow, and the three cunning ones who lead them, the Hollow Crown, are the antagonists of the age. See The Fracture.
